The purpose of this barchelor´s thesis is to examine the ballistic resistance of selected types of protective vests to the effects of a firearm. Examinated vests are selected from the Armed Security Corps (Police of the Czech Republic) and the Armed Forces (Army of the Czech Republic). An USP Expert weapon was selected for the trials. This is the most common type of weapon used by armed forces and the civilian population too. The theoretical part of thesis is devided in to ballistics and sub-areas. The experimental section describes the tested weapon, ammunition, ballistic vests, separate ballistic materials and whole experiment itself. The entire experiment has been captured by camera and photos being attached.
