Abstract

The Diploma Thesis describes the production and processing of molybdenum by means of basic principles and world-wide known technologies as well as various available comparative studies. The deeper knowledge on the secrets of this rare metal I obtained studying the available materials, the more it conjured up ideas and contemplations on the inevitability of a follow-up work and mainly research on the places where it is possible to find the metal and how to retrieve it in the future in the most practical and profitable way. I am sure that the future generations will not be able to do without its further utilization. I still face the question of further research of the metal. I hope my career, economic conditions and time will permit to come back to the issue in a more consistent manner in the future.
