Abstract

The aim of my diploma essay is to describe the transformation of one-way analog networks of TV cable distribution to multifunctional data networks that support the implementing and accessibility of new multimedia services. One of the reasons for the current cable distribution change was the pressure of end-users on providers. This resulted in new technologies being developed provided that they can be used for existing cable distribution. The new standard DOCSIS was introduced. Its use in KTV Přerov is explained in this diploma essay.
