Abstract

Metallurgy belongs to enterprises with a long manufacturing tradition in heavy industry in the Czech Republic. Input materials are ores imported mainly from the east, dolomite, coke, but also wastes generated in metallurgical process. The metallurgical enterprise with a closed cycle of production, and its other technological equipment, produce various types of waste. With the possibility of processing these wastes in order to use metal of interest contained within, it is also to be counted with possible accompanying effects on the environment. This thesis deals with the re-use of selected metallurgical waste within the metallurgical plant, which leads to cost savings and thus the increase of efficiency of the company. It describes some possibilities of modifying these materials, their economic use, with the consequent possibility of direct mixture in the charge in agglomeration and economic evaluation of proposed investment.
