Abstract

This graduation thesis points to technological procedures that support brown coal with a high sulphur content processing. Brown coal with a high sulphur content is unusable and unsalable for a fuel market. The research is occupied with biological pretreatment of brown coal with a high sulphur content by the help of bacteria Acidithiobacilus ferroxidans and its possibilities to remake into blending fuel – ecological pellets, which could suit valid standards. Results proved that with biological pretreatment is possible to remove about 50% of sulphur from the coal, and after burning pellets made from this coal is possible to make the fuel which almost suits valid standards.
