Abstract
The thesis deals with investigations on minor phases in grain oriented electrical steels (GOES). The theoretical part describes the technology of GOES production. Moreover, it contains an outline ofthe microstructure evolution in GOES during high temperature annealing. The theoretical part also deals with methods and techniques which can be used for the evaluation of precipitates and texture in GOES.
In the experimental part, an evaluation of precipitates in both hot rolled coils and sheets after decarburization annealing was carried out. Minor phases were identified in the TEM using X-ray spectral microanalysis (EDX). The particle size and number density of precipitates were characterized by image analysis.
