Hodnocení akutní akvatické toxicity vybraných organických pojiv frikčních kompozitů brzdových obložení automobilů, brzdného otěru a prachových částic z cest

Abstract

The master thesis deals with acute aquatic toxicity of selected organic binders used in automotive friction composites, which are mostly phenolic resin. Wear particles gen-erated after dynamometer test and road dust particles collected from high and low traffic were also studied by acute toxicity assessment as well. Their influence to growth of two freshwater green algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus a Raphidocelis subcapitata) was evaluated. Scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction were used to analyze elemental and phase composition of testing samples. The acute aquatic toxicity was determined by using parameter EC50, which is effective concentration causing 50 % inhibition of growth of the algae culture. Experimental results showed slightly toxic character for brake wear debris and road traffic. On the contrary compounds based on hexamethylenetetramine represented the biggest risk to the environment.
