Abstract
The bachelor thesis deals with leadership commitment to safety and its importance. It describes the theoretical grasp of organizational culture and safety culture, the state of research and the relationship between safety culture and safety climate.
The practical part is devoted to a comparison of leadership commitment to safety in companies and an assessment of the personal experiences of rank and file employees and managers. It compares the results with the four top-ranked firms in terms of Safety Culture Awards and offers recommendations for effective implementation of leadership commitment to safety in firms.
