Abstract

The thesis is focused on the utilization of thermal analysis methods for solidification process study in the continuously cast slabs. A first step in this work is the characterization of the process of solidification continuously cast slabs with a focus on the issue of solidification when it is passing through the device continuously casting and heat removal in the primary and secondary cooling zone. The following section describes the analysis methods of thermal analysis, and their utilization in studying of high-temperature processes occurring in the steel. Consequently, an analysis of operational and laboratory data obtained during the experimental study of solidification process of continuously cast slabs is described in this thesis. In this work, data of a numerical model for simulating the operating parameters and results of thermal analysis of studied steel for the analysis of operational data were used. The influence of individual parameters and results are summarized in conclusion.
