The main goal of the thesis is to measure frequency response of various optical fibre fixations for five different frequencies, using the Mach-Zehnder interferometer, and determine which fixation of the optical fibre is most suitable for a given frequency.
Theoretical part consists of introduction into the topic of sensorial measurements and familiarization with the term “interference” and “Mach-Zehnder interferometer.”
The practical part is aimed at assembling a measuring instrument – a two beam Mach-Zehnder interferometer – anad processing the results. Results and assessment of the measured values are presented at the end of the thesis, along with the author’s recommendation, as to which of the fixations is the most appropriate for the given frequency.
