Abstract
This bachelor thesis analyzes and forecasts the consumption of electricity and natural gas in the residential sector of the Czech Republic. The primary objective is to identify key determinants affecting energy demand and quantify their impact using multiple linear regression. The model incorporates economic factors, such as commodity prices and average wages, alongside climatic variables represented by heating and cooling degree days. Particular attention is paid to the energy crisis period, which is addressed in the model using a qualitative (dummy) variable. The thesis provides an economic interpretation of the estimated coefficients and a consumption forecast for the year 2025.
