Abstract
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to identify and evaluate threats and opportunities of a woodworking company. The issue will be looked at mainly from the social and economic perspective. The whole process will involve searching for information about suppliers, customers, and potential competition in the woodworking industry. At the same time, it is important to mention that methods of strategic analysis will be used to draw certain conclusions. Since the topic is focused only on opportunities and threats, the analyses mainly concern the external environment. The result of the work is to find out what threats that affect the enterprise, how it is possible to fight them. On the other hand, there are also possible opportunities for the company on the market. Again, it is necessary to find them and allow the owner to be able to use them to his advantage.
The summary and inference of the conclusion was determined using the final SWOT analysis. From the available results, the author concluded that the company's strengths were predominant, mainly due to the unique product (part of the gramophone). Among other things, employee flexibility and a wide variety of production processes in the company are also very strong points. The second most significant component of the SWOT analysis are threats, which was fairly expected, due to the outbreak of the pandemic and subsequently also in the next few months of the war in Ukraine. The effects of both factors are already unconditionally affecting businesses and are likely to continue to affect them. Due to inflation, rise of interest rates and further hikes in various areas, it is necessary to constantly think about the future and be prepared to face these very unexpected situations as well.
The strategy that emerged from the SWOT analysis is that the business, using its strengths, should combat growing threats. The recommendation is largely around improving the company's website, which should ultimately not overly impact the financial side of the business. One of the other weaknesses concerned employees and their relationship with the business. The owner could explore what employees lack or, more generally, how they relate to the organisation in which they work. At the same time, the enterprise has no mission, vision or objective more concretely specified, which would also be appropriate to correct and familiarise all employees with.
