Abstract

This diploma thesis is focused on the new Act No. 257/2016 Coll., on consumer loans and its impact on their provision. The aim of the thesis is to assess the impact of changes or innovations brought by this new Act (in comparison with the old Act No. 145/2010 Coll., on consumer loans and with the amendments of some laws) on the provision of these loans. The other aim of the thesis is to find out whether particular changes or news have become contribution or not. To achieve the aim, the methods of questionnaire survey, observation and interviews with individual respondents of two groups are used, namely with consumers and bank employees. In the theoretical part, there are basic terms related to loans presented as well as types of consumer loans, a description of the credit process, the relationship between personal data protection and consumer loans and supervision over these loans. In the practical part of the thesis, there are individual changes or innovations that the new Act on Consumer Credit has brought named and analyzed in more detail, including a comparison of opinions obtained from individual methods in different groups of respondents. Furthermore, the thesis contains an evaluation of the overall impact of the new Act on the provision of consumer loans as well as findings related to positive and negative impacts of this Act.
