Abstract
In practice, there are increasing demands for testing non-standard test pieces. This implies the examination of the specimen size effect on strength characteristics of structural steels.
Knowledge of the strength characteristics depending on the size of the sample allows assessment of the strength and proven on small specimens. Presumption relating tensile strength of bodies of different sizes is consistent with experimental results. Range of similarity constants q* is determined from 0.50 to 0.54. Empirical constant value of similarity is 0.54.
