Abstract

This thesis deals with the issue of a possible energy recovery from waste lubricants in the production of ropes in ŽDB DRÁTOVNA a.s. company. It describes the whole process of the production of steel wire ropes - from the production of steel wire at the beginning to the lubrication of produced steel wire ropes at the end. It also describes the production specifically in the aforementioned company. The experimental part of this thesis consists of description of energy recovery from waste in general, brief description of methods used to analyze collected samples of lubricants and the evaluation of results, including a comparison between waste lubricants and selected fuels. The thesis ends with a summary of results and a suggestion for the company regarding a possible solution of this issue in the future.
