Abstract
This thesis focuses on the analysis of student satisfaction with their studies at a selected technical faculty, specifically the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology at VSB - Technical University of Ostrava. The aim of the work is to determine how satisfied students are with the quality of teaching, the quality of courses taught, and the satisfaction with the teaching staff. Furthermore, the work addresses the identification of problems and deficiencies that negatively affect the overall satisfaction of students with their studies.
The theoretical part of the thesis describes basic concepts related to customer satisfaction, as students are customers of schools and are recipients of their service in the form of education. Additionally, the marketing of schools and the basic characteristics of the higher education market and the technical faculty itself are described. Lastly, the data collection method and methodology for the analytical part of the work are described in the theoretical part.
In the practical part of the thesis, an analysis of data obtained through an online questionnaire survey among current students at the faculty is performed. Based on the data collected, recommendations are proposed for improving the quality of teaching and study conditions at the faculty.
The results of this thesis can be used by the management of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology to increase student satisfaction and address any identified deficiencies. They can also serve as a guide for further research and improving student satisfaction with their studies at this faculty.
