Abstract

Presented final work is focused on characterization of forest in the nature reserve Velké Doly, with emphasis on the species composition of vegetation. The work was divided into two parts. The first part consists of a literature review dealing with dendrological and ecological characteristics of the nature reserve of Velké Doly. The basis of the second part of the thesis fieldwork. When the field was carried out errands dendrologic survey and an inventory was made of wood. They are most abundant in nature reserve tree species Fagus sylvatica, Quercus robur, Acer platanoides, Carpinus betulus and Tilia platyphyllos, while for these five species were performed dendrologic measurements. The entire territory of the nature reserve has been divided into four areas and typological was measured thirty individuals from each of the aforementioned kind. It was found that the highest tree species found in the nature reserve is the oak tree whose height is 29 m. The largest trunk diameter was measured with maple, whose diameter is 164 cm, and the oldest tree species is beech, which has been calculated at the age of 170 years. The reserve was reduced the occurrence of geographically non-native invasive species, from 3% to 2%, due to the felling of the forest under Regulation messages. The results of the field survey was the suggestion of management of the area that can serve as a basis for practical use.
