Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of UTP cables cat.5 and 6, as currently the most widespread internet cables in households. The work is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The first of them shows the division of UTP cables, the behaviour of the plastic insulation material in the case of fire and the cable classes of reaction to fire. Furthermore, the conical calorimeter is introduced here as a device on which cables were measured. Subsequently, the compared values, namely HRR and RSR, based on the international standard ISO 5660-1, are presented here. The practical part concerns the characteristics of the tested cables, graphical representation measured values, and a description of the measurement process. In the end, the measurement results are evaluated and compared, which is also the aim of this work.
