Abstract
The presented PhD thesis is devoted to the design, implementation and maintenance of the railing structure at tram stops in the Ostrava public transport administration. Special attention was paid to the glass railing panels, which were subsequently installed into the existing steel structures.
The glass structure of railing contributed to the protection of passengers , tothe improvement of the culture of travelling and the maintenance of railing by regular replacement of damaged glass panels.
Contractors design glass panels in accordance with part D of the standard about railing, where all constructions of laminated safety glass, heat-strengthened or toughened glass are recommended.
The reliability of the mentioned composites is based on the experience of not very successful implementation, at which the analysis of the interaction of individual parts of the structure missed.
For this reason it is necessary to verify the suitability of the filler material
(the thickness of the glass, the type of glass) and the appropriateness of the fit.
The dissertation includes the assessment of not only the filling material (glass), but also the design of the appropriate structural solution of the load-bearing frame.
The design of the appropriate structural solution is based on the results of
the experimental measurement and modeling in ANSYS software.
