Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with optimization of gating system during casting of various steel ingot formats. The thesis is divided into two basic parts. The first part focuses on the theoretical foundations of the production of steel ingots and their internal and external quality. There is also a basic classification of ingots into classes according to the oxygen content. In the first part, there is a description of various technologies for steel ingot casting and a description of the main parts of the gating system. The second part of the thesis is focused on the analysis of domestic and foreign literature dealing with optimization of the inflow system. Various possibilities of optimization of the gating system for better final quality of cast ingots are presented.
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to find and evaluate various possibilities for optimization of gating system.
