Abstract
This bachelor work is focused on a comparison of various kinds of refractory materials from the point of view of their influence on the quality of casting steel in a casting basin. Their properties and compositions will be analyzed in accordance with price availability and economic advantage. Another factor, which can influence the quality of casted steel, is the technological procedure of lining the casting basin. The objective of this work will be to achieve the greatest life of lining in the casting basin by selecting and combining suitable types of layers of refractory material.
