Abstract
The diploma thesis addresses the area in the center of Ostrava, which is located on the border of
Černá louka and Karolina. The plot itself is located near the newly built campus of Ostrava University and its southern side borders with the Ostravice river.
The aim of this thesis is to design a modern elementary school that will meet the requirements
of educational trends in the 21st century. In addition, the work includes an urban design that will
solve the issues of connecting the school with the surrounding area.
