Abstract

The tightening of environmental standards forces the car industry to reduce emissions. One of the ways to achieve this is via to manufacture electric cars. Among others, the lack of the charging stations prevents from the further spreading of the electric car and plug-in hybrids into the society. The thesis deals with technology of production of battery charging unit cowling. ABS plastic was used for its manufacturing via vacuum pressing. A frame from MDF-boards was designed and manufactured for trimming of technological surpluses of plastic parts using a milling machine. In the SolidCAM program was created a code for CNC milling machine. Also, a procedure of assembling the machined plastic parts of the cowling by means of gluing.
