Baťův kanál v proměnách času

Abstract

The aim of this work is to bring the deficiencies relating to sailing in the Bata Channel, particularly in its northern section. The first part focuses on the building and the historic and present sailing in the Bata Channel. The chapter called The Importance of the Bata Channel for Tourism describes not only historical and current cruise along the channel, but it also points out the cultural and natural heritage which can be seen during the voyage. The second part deals with the possibilities of improving sailing on the waterway, especially in the section from Otrokovice to Uherský Ostroh which belongs to the Zlin region. The proposed measures should not only make the voyage convenient and pleasant, but they also could increase the number of visitors to some lesser-known sites, as well as the inflow of funds. Other shortcomings of this waterway are detected by the results of a questionnaire survey.
