Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of arc quenching on the model of Jacob's ladder. This thesis describes the principle of quenching the electric arc without a quenching chamber, with a quenching metal chamber and with a quenching insulating chamber. The construction of the individual quenching chambers with which the measurements were carried out is described here too. In addition, measurement for quenching without chambers and with chambers and their evaluation is provided. The evaluation includes the comparison of the arc burning length for the individual measurements made on the Jacob's ladder model.
