Abstract

Věra Holubová, Ph.D. This bachelor's thesis focuses on the modernising the physical safety of a selected primary school, more specifically the second grade building and the vestibule. It aims to identify potential safety risks threatening the protected facility and minimize their impact through an innovative physical safety system solution for this school. The thesis consists of a couple of parts. The first one, dedicated to theory, initially deals with the issue of safety in the school environment, which is followed by the importance of the standard ČSN 73 4400 and also the newly published foreign standard, the conclusion is dedicated to the reported violent safety incidents in the Czech Republic. The second part focuses on a detailed description of the studied school building, quantifying its assets, describing the current state of safety, its evaluation and then assessing the safety risks on the basis of which an innovative proposal for modernising is developed. The output of the work is therefore an innovative design of safety measures, which includes the improvement of all aspects of physical safety.
