Abstract

Development of the Lower Cenomanian sediments (Peruc Mbr.) in East Bohemia is still not sufficiently known. The reason is an uneven development of the Peruc Mbr. in the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. One place of their occurrence in East Bohemia is the locality around the village of Sopotnice, which offers a direct subsoil of Peruc Mbr. (their basal and bottom part). A new occurrence of white river sandstones of Peruc Mbr. can be traced in a sandstone quarry near the village of Záměl. It offers a naked top part of Peruc Mbr. with erosion basis of the banks of the Korycany Mbr. beds glauconites. The diploma thesis focuses on a comparison of basic physical-mechanical properties of white river sandstones of the Peruc Mbr. with glauconites of the Korycany Mbr. The work also deals with the possibilities of processing sandstone using a high-speed waterjet, the influence of temperance on sandstones absorbability, and using sandstones in architecture.
