Abstract

This bachelor thesis is focused on the topic of workplace accidents, injuries and compensations in Vršanská uhelná, a.s. Introduction of the thesis presents legal regulation related to occupational safety and health, appropriate duties of both employer and employee, accidents reporting and record keeping, workers' compensation claim form and various types of compensations. Next part involves brief description of joint-stock company, followed by analysis of accidents, injuries and risks related to the opencast mining operations. The thesis conclusion offers suitable measures and steps to be taken in order to minimize such risks.
