Abstract
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the analysis of economic relations between Czechia and Taiwan, with emphasis on their historical development, current state, and future prospects. It examines Taiwan's position within the context of the global economy and analyzes its role in the field of information and communication technologies. The theoretical part of the thesis also includes an interpretation of the European Union's stance towards the island and the development of partnerships with said territory. The general aim of the thesis is to deepen the understanding of Taiwan's importance to the functioning of the global economy. The research part includes an analysis of the export activities of both economics, including market concentration analysis. It further focuses on the identification of trade trends, which is supported by correlation analysis. The research also involves a facilitated personal interview with a respondent who until recently worked in the advanced chip industry sector, which is a key manufacturing industry in Taiwan. This thesis simultaneously highlights the obstacles and challenges that arise during the development of economic relations with the island due to the Czech Republic's membership in the European Union and proves that it is in the country's best interest to actively strive to overcome these barriers within the framework of the European Union's common trade policy. The information and insights gathered clearly demonstrate both the fragility and simultaneously absolute necessity of Taiwan's economic system, which through its production capacity continues to push the boundaries of science, technology and global innovation.
