Abstract

Cement based solidification/stabilization is often used for hazardous waste processing. My work is related with GESTA hazardous waste processing technology and is focused on replacing currently used cement as an agent with ashes. This study extends my diploma thesis and establishes the foundations for improvement of Gesta technologies and even for putting its results into practice, which would improve the company’s economy as well as reduce the demands on natural resources. As a part of work an experiment was carried out in which different formulas were applied. The chemical features of the processed waste were tested and different formulas effects were evaluated. Results were applied to designing possible modification of the present technology. A bench-scale performance test was carried out during experiment andresults were compared with presently used recipes in the end. Economy of the process and cost-effectiveness were also analyzed.
