Abstract

Creation of proposal for technological equipment using high energy water jet for application in low capacity quarries was goal of this thesis. In the beginning there are discussed ways how the high energy water jet is affecting rock materials. Mainly pure water jet, abrasive water jet and pulsing water jet are considered. Attention is also given to generation of water jets considering plunger and multiplicator pumps. The next part is devoted to experimental measurements made in the laboratory conditions at the VŠB - Technical Univeristy of Ostrava. Materials used for testing were sandstones and granites. The following chapter describes the course of field tests of the water jet in the Javorka quarry where the bělohrad’s sandstone is quarried. Finally all the collected data are summarized in the VEKP's own design for needs of low-capacity quarry as for mining and for processing of the material into the final product.
