Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with influence of production of stainless swimming pools on the environment. Individual manufacturing processes (welding, machining / metal working and chemical cleaning) are described in the thesis including creation of dangerous substances that have a negative impact on the environment. It was found that welding smoke and dust containing toxic substances (Cr, Ni, Mn, Si, C, Mo) are generated during welding, where chromium with an oxidation number + VI is predominant. Machining (cutting, drilling, grinding and polishing) leads to the targeted removal of metal layer from the steel surface when creating harmful dust of various particle sizes (<10 μm) containing toxic metals. During chemical cleaning process dangerous products from decomposition such as hydrofluoric acid, sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and hydrogen are released. Based on these findings is necessary to ensure that technology (technics) and chemicals reducing the negative impact on the environment are used in companies producing stainless pools and workers of these companies have duties to use personal protective equipmentat work.
