Abstract
The topic of this thesis is the measurement of recirculation using the BTM, which is part of the hemodialysis FRESENIUS 4008S monitor. This thesis explores the development of the flow in the AV shunt, which is crucial for successful hemodialysis treatment. The development flow is monitored using BTM module, based on the thermodilution method can detect vascular access recirculation. From the calculated recirculation, then we can calculate the flow rate. The development of the flow in the vascular access for chronic hemodialysis department has long monitored using Doppler ultrasound examination, which is considered a basic examination, the measurement using the BTM module can be regarded as supporting previous ultrasound examination alone. Thesis maps the development trend of the flow in the vascular access obtained from Doppler ultrasound and BTM module. Compares the accuracy BTM module with Doppler ultrasound examination. The main point of this thesis is to create a program that values calculated from the measured flow AV shutnu, monitors the development flow, trend and points to impaired flow below the acceptable limit. Physician from the program may judge whether the flow in the AV shunt adequate or whether it requires surgery.
