Abstract
The presented diploma thesis examines the possibilities for application of the Induction Heat Source Active Thermography in diagnostics of internal defects and structure of materials. The measurement methodology was composed in accordance to the character of the tested samples. The impact of sample geometry and of temperature-physical properties of the samples on the resulting data was studied. Various settings to the induction heat source were tested, in order to achieve an ideal excitation of a thermal wave in the material, considering the quality of the resulting data. The obtained data were compared with each other and were put into the context of the issue at hand in the following discussion, including recommendations concerning future experiments. A theoretical model of the temperature wave phase shift was also applied for the possibility to verify the extent of the phase delay of the temperature waves on the surface of the sample. The theoretical model was compared with the real measured data.
