Abstract

The thesis deals with the process of development of LED luminaires and optimization of their function in order to achieve top parameters. At first, the classic concepts of design and composition of luminaires are described. A comparison of luminaires for conventional light sources and LEDs is made, including the specification of typical parameters. In the first part, the thesis deals with retrofitting - the way of creating LED luminaire from a luminaire originally intended for another type of light source. It compares various aspects of substitution, change of light parameters in space and electrical safety. The development of a modular downlight for LED light sources is described in the next chapter. From the definition of required parameters, through component selection, prototype construction and measurement. The necessary production documentation and bill of material for purchasing were prepared for luminaires. Description of the process of developing a LED emergency lighting luminaire powered by supercapacitor follows. The advantages of the solution are presented and the design of the main parts of the luminaire, the calculation of the required supercapacitor capacity and the influence of its parameters on the operation of the emergency luminaire are described. After prototype construction the measurement results are presented. The fourth part describes the work done on the LED bifunctional headlamp module during the development of the prototype and after its installation into the vehicle. The color of the cut-off and the luminous output of the headlamp are measured. Readymade prototypes were built into the car and road illumination was measured for comparison with the series headlamps. The last part summarizes the findings of the works on LED luminaires development, its methodology, including the available tools, graphical representation of the processes and the description of the roles of the individual participants in the development process.
