Abstract

This thesis describes the properties of modern wireless technologies. Explains the principles of digital modulation, describes their influence on the signal and explains the theory of signal transmission over transmission path. There are described degradative influences that affect the signal in the real transmission channel. The thesis also deals with real instruments and devices that allow generation of digitally modulated signal. Those devices are divided into classical and virtual instrumentation. The thesis contains flowchart of the generating digitally modulated signals. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the design application that is used for generating digitally modulated signal in ideal condition and also with different types of degradation. Further, this application is tested on real hardware from National Instruments, and is here proposed measurement of degradation effects in real transmission channel to a digitally modulated signal.
