Analýza ESG strategie a její optimalizace u dodavatele pro automobilový průmysl.

Abstract

This diploma thesis presents an in-depth analysis of the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) strategy implemented by Continental Automotive Czech Republic, a key supplier in the automotive industry. The objective was to evaluate the extent to which sustainability principles are embedded within corporate processes and to identify areas in which ESG components may be further developed. The thesis is structured into several logical parts. In the theoretical section, the historical background, evolution, and current ESG frameworks were introduced, along with a comparison to the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Key international standards and methodologies used for measuring and evaluating ESG performance were summarized. The subsequent section focused on the analysis of the company’s existing ESG strategy, with attention given to specific measures related to emission reduction, transition to renewable energy, responsible supply chain management, and improvement of working conditions. Based on the findings, recommendations were formulated for the optimization of the ESG strategy, aiming to increase its effectiveness, transparency, and overall contribution—not only to the company but also to the broader environmental and social context. Emphasis was placed on the interconnectedness of ESG pillars and their relevance to the long-term competitiveness of the firm. The results of this work may serve both academic and practical purposes, providing a foundation for further strategic decision-making and continuous improvement in sustainability and responsible business practices within the automotive sector.
