Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with usage of a beam string structure with prestressed steel rods as the main supporting element of roofing structures of large span halls. In the theoretical part the main attention is focused on construction possibilities of roofing structures of large span objects as well as on usage of prestressing in steel structures of building constructions. Next part is dedicated to two parametrical case studies on impact of prestressing reflected in distribution of internal forces in particular members of the structure. The calculation model of the construction was designed with respect to the real roofing structure of the WERK ARENA in Třinec. The last part of this thesis contains the design of the main supporting members of the roofing structure with some examples of capacity checks of selected members and joints.
