Abstract

Local Development Strategy of LAG Staroměstsko in the EU Programming Period 2014 – 2020 Bc. Nikola Sentlová The issue of rural development is given substantial attention in recent years. In the past, rural development had been important for agriculture, but that has changed. Although rural development was not initially part of the common agricultural policy, it was given considerable attention in later years. According to the fact that rural area creates most of the territory and almost half of the EU population lives there rural development became one of the main priorities of the European Union. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the situation of LAG Staromestsko and to assess its possible development potential based on the Strategy of Community-Led Local Development for Programming Period 2014 – 2020. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The second chapter deals with rural development in the EU. Definition of rural development is in the second chapter and also there is the Common Agriculture Policy. The rural development policy is based on Common Agriculture Policy. In the last part of the second chapter the rural development policy in EU programming period 2007 – 2013 and 2014 – 2020 is explained. The third chapter is about Local Development Strategy of LAG Staroměstsko. There are socio-economic analysis of LAG Staroměstsko, activities of LAG Staroměstsko. In the last part of third chapter there is Strategy of Community-Led Local Development which defines strategic goals. Strategic goals are bassed on SWOT analysis
