Analýza nezaměstnanosti mladých lidí v EU

Abstract

The aim of the thesis is by descriptive and econometric analysis to find out factors, that impact on youth unemployment in the countries of European Union. The descriptive analysis confirmed the results of the empirical studies, which had pointed to heterogeneity of the countries of the European Union. The countries which are affected the most with the youth unemployment are the states in the south of the Europe. On the other way the countries which achieve the best results are ones in the north and the west of the Europe. According to the results of the econometric analysis a significant statistic relationship was proved between the unemployment rate of young people and six variables. The positive impact on the youth unemployment have the growth of the GDP, growth of a ratio of self-employed people on the total employment of the young people and growth of the ratio of the people in age from 30 to 34, who achieved tertiary eduaciton, on the whole population of people who belong to he mentioned category. On the other way the negative effect on the ratio of the youth unemployment was proved by increasing of ratio of temporary employed young people on the employment rate of young people, the increase of a ratio of long-term unemployed young people on total employment of the young people, and the increase of total expenditures spent on passive employment policy. In the case of the last variable, causality is most likely to occur. As emerged from descriptive and econometric analysis the youth unemployment is still current topic that has to be solved same at the level of the European Union as on level of member states.
