Abstract

The presented bachelor thesis is mainly focused on the assesment of Windows Azure technology, possibilities of its utilization in application development as well as the conversion of current company solutions into cloud environment. The evaluation consisted of several parts which included the assessment portability of classical .NET framework applications into Windows Azure (and research of possible restrictions/limitations). All options of persistant data storage in Windows Azure were tested as well as all possible kinds of roles provided by Compute service. The possibility of access to Azure application from mobile devices has been examined. Also, data transfers between local SQL and Azure table storage were performed. Finally, a test of Azure platform suitability for customer solutions development was evaluated. The second part of the work focuses on basics of Microsoft SharePoint technology and component development for this technology.
