Abstract
This thesis focuses on software detection of QRS complexes in ECG signals. The thesis is divided into several sections. The first section deals with physiology and electrical activity of the heart. The next sections include heart activity sensing, signal filtering and description of basic elements of the ECG curve. Afterwards the basic principles and several methods of QRS detection are described. The next section contains detailed description of design and implementation of three selected detection methods. At the end of the thesis all realized detectors are tested on synthetic and real data. In the last section all created detectors are evaluated and compared.
