Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the current issue of mercury, which is part of energy by - products. It describes in detail the toxicity of mercury, its cycle, emerging emissions, impacts on living organisms and components of the environment. It lists the largest polluters in the Czech Republic who emit mercury into the environment through combustion or other technological processes. It also includes a description of the best available BAT to prevent emissions from industrial sources, as well as types of energy by-products and related legislation. The aim of the work is the analysis of current problems on the topic and the presentation of possible solutions.
