Abstract
The thesis deals with evaluation of posibility to use walnut shells for removal of hexavalent chromium from aqueous solutions. Biosorbents suitability was verified by determination of its sorption capacity (equilibrium) and speed (adsorption kinetic) adsorption of hexavalent chromium. The thesis also described the factors affecting the biosorption process and methodology for establishing the optimum conditions of biosorption. Samples were analyzed by spectrophotometric methods and the results interpreted using the Langmuir isotherm model.
