Abstract

This diploma thesis is devoted to the assessment of the physical load of caregivers in a home for the elderly. The aim of the work is to evaluate the physical load of a selected sample of staff at a retirement home and, based on the results, propose measures to reduce risks. Part of the theoretical part is an evaluation of the current state of caregivers, types of physical load and its consequences, categorization, and occupational diseases. The practical part is dedicated to the description of the workplace and individual job positions. Furthermore, the physical load of the selected personnel is mapped and evaluated, and the categorization of the work is recommended. At the end of the thesis, measures for reducing risks are proposed.
