Abstract

The diploma thesis presents a research study describing the effect of a hydrogen molecule on the explosion characteristics of a binary mixture of propane and air. Experimental simulations were performed in a heated 20 L spherical vessel. The mathematical simulations were calculated by program for chemical equilibrium conditions. The study summarizes the state-of-the-art of the research carried out in the previous 10 years, which focuses on the influence of hydrogen addition to the mixture of fossil fuels. Hydrogen in propane-air mixtures has been reported by only one study. Two works dealt with the addition of hydrogen to the methane and air mixture. As the proportion of hydrogen in the mixture increased, the measurements for the maximum explosion pressure and the values for the maximum pressure rise increased. During the work, measurements and subsequent interpretation of more than 50 time dependencies were performed with respect to different concentrations of mixtures of hydrogen and methane and hydrogen and propane in air at initiation temperatures of 25 ° C, 50 ° C and 100 ° C. The most important results from the evaluated experiments are deflation index values. The thesis also includes possible future use of the findings from the practical point of view.
