Abstract
This thesis deals with the passive optical network problematic. The theoretical part focusses on the description of the Ethernet PON version 2 and WDM-PON release 3 technologies and furthermore, it presents a general view of the new generation networks with a description of their concrete agents. The practical part deals with the creation of a special optical network, when communication will be on a single fiber optic. Furthermore, it continues with verifying the functionality of both of those different technologies implemented on a single fiber optic by the mean of a spectral analysis and then, with detecting the mutual influence of the used technologies by the mean of RFC 2544 and ITU-T Y. 1564 tests. In its second part, the thesis deals with the creation of an integrated optical network in the Optiwave Optisystem 12 simulation program and with the comparison of real and simulated data. In its conclusion, this thesis summarizes the mutual influence of EPON2 and DWDM-PON technologies as integrated on a single fiber optic.
