Abstract
The aim of the bachelor thesis is evaluation of an investment project of a family company in the agricultural sector. The investment project was implemented in year 2021. The family company was renting the service of a combine harvester for 5 years, which have already become unprofitable, the company has decided to buy own combine harvester. Based on chosen evaluation criteria was assessed efficiency of the investment and the leased service, the results were compared with the data that the company has achieved through its own processing. Furthermore, the profitability of the investment was compered according to the chosen way of financing.
The second chapter of the bachelor thesis describes and classifies the methods and procedures of the investment project. In the thesis is characterized the classification of investments and described the various stages of the investment process. In this chapter, we can also find the description of the sources for the investment, then the cash flows of the investment and characterization of the capital costs and its models. Finally, the criteria for evaluating the investment were set and described the sensitivity analysis and the break-even point.
The third chapter is devoted to the characteristics of the combine harvester for rent and a new investment. The technical parameters of the machines, advantages and disadvantages and the reason for purchasing own combine harvester are described in this part as well.
The last chapter is focused on the practical part of the bachelor thesis, where the theory is applied to the evaluation of investment. First of all, we learn more about the family company, its organizational structure, the investment project and the company valuation. Then the investment and the rented combine harvester are evaluated. Furthermore, the static and dynamic methods are applied to the investment project and at the end the sensitivity analysis and the break-even point are examined.
