Abstract

This work is focused on respirometry method and its application in wastewater treatment technologies. The introductory section describes the methods of biological wastewater treatment (aerobic processes, nitrification and denitrification). The next section describes the activated sludge, attention is paid to the bacterial cells, their metabolism, growth, and factors affecting them. The paper describes some types of bacteria that are used in the process of biological wastewater treatment. The thesis focuses on the very principle of respirometric methods and instrumentation. In conclusion, compared Strathtox device (BODst) is the standard method - biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) set the standard dilution method and studied microbiology of activated sludge.
