Zhodnocení finančního zdraví vybraného podniku

Abstract

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to evaluate the financial health of Tiskárna Grafico s.r.o. in the period of 2014–2018. Based on the results, a recommendation is proposed for the potential improvement of the future financial situation of the company. In the practical part, selected methods of financial analysis are applied to the calculations using sources of information of the selected company and subsequent evaluation of the results. First, a horizontal analysis of assets was carried out, which showed that the company's assets increased significantly in the second half of the monitored period as a result of investments in new production facilities. The vertical analysis observed that the company's assets are mainly current assets and liabilities are mainly external sources. Financing investments with foreign capital is cheaper for the company and less risky than using equity. At the end of the thesis, the ratios of activity, liquidity, profitability and indebtedness were used for comparison with the average of the printing industry. This analysis revealed that the company has a lower profitability of partial indicators than the industry average in 2017. On the contrary, it turned out to have a significantly higher degree of all types of liquidity, which may mean that the company uses it’s funds inefficiently. Total indebtedness was also higher than the industrial average, but the equity ratio was only half the limit value. A positive result was shown by comparing the turnover time of liabilities with the industry average. This time turned out to be longer than the industry average. It is desirable for the company that the turnover period be longer than the receivables turnover period, which was confirmed in a separate ratio analysis of assets in three of the five monitored years. The breakdown of the return on equity indicator brought the influence of sub-indicators closer to the peak indicator and it turned out that it is most influenced by the turnover of assets and recorded a similar development of values over time. At the end of the thesis, the analysis was evaluated and solutions were proposed to improve the situation of the company, including a proposal to expand production capacity from the existing limited location or to monitor current trends in the printing and communication market. Important proposals include the need to increase production automation, which allows for greater production flexibility, helps reduce production downtime, and increases production schedule efficiency. In the coming years, it will be important for the company to integrate modern technologies into the entire production chain and thus create a competitive advantage in today's highly competitive globalized environment.
